RSH
Architects and RSH Interiors worked with representatives of office of the
physical plant,
HR&IM, and Food Services to create new servery facilities and provide
a seating area for 150 students and staff that accommodates several food presentation formats.
The new program required replacement of all existing food service
components, except ventilation equipment, which was modified to respond to
new air-flow and exhaust requirements. Wall and floor finishes were
updated to reflect a neutral, yet finished appearance. Display casework,
with warming and refrigeration components, was designed and specified as
part of the servery improvements and contracted through a prime vendor.
The seating area carried through with cosmetic finish upgrades
complementing the servery. New furnishings, offering several seating
options replaced the heavy original seating. Concealed motorized drapery
provides a visual screen when a full-service mode of presentation and
delivery is desired. New equipment includes a high temperature gas fired
pizza oven with stone hearth, a bar-b-que rotisserie, cappuccino machine,
and demonstration grille. Thematic lighting infrastructure was provided to
permit installation of proprietary venue equipment.
