 St.
Winifred Parish was established in the South Hills of Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania in 1960. An entire parish complex was constructed 2 years
later which included a school, church, rectory, and convent. Nearly 40
years later, there was a desire to upgrade the existing worship
facilities.
RSH Architects and a liturgical consultant prepared a feasibility study and
plans for the proposed renovations to the church. Recommendations included
modifications to the sanctuary and choir areas, restoration of the
existing artwork and sculpture, new toilets, handicapped accessible
accommodations, modifications to reconciliation rooms, lighting, and air
conditioning. Final design
development and contract documents for execution of the work are pending.
