RSH
Architects working together with Marsico Corporation as a design/build
team, presented the winning proposal for the Canonsburg/McMurray Carrier
Annex development. Our firm provided site design and engineering services
through our consultants as well as architectural, structural, mechanical
and electrical designs and construction documents, based on the USPS
prototype. RSH Architects worked closely with Marsico to develop material
and system designs and specifications that met the performance criteria of
the USPS and delivered a competitively priced project.
The building’s practical design results from a clear functional program
and careful selection of materials to afford durability and low
maintenance. The facade treatment presents a simple, yet appropriate
interface to the public and surrounding commercial neighborhood. Interior
color and material selections conform to USPS standards and specific
directives of the local postmaster.
The total project timetable from award of design/build contract to owner
occupancy was 19 months.
