 Wallace
Memorial Presbyterian Church first formed in Green Tree Borough during the
1930s. Originally a missionary outreach to the newly developing South
Hills area, it grew until, in 1950, a new sanctuary addition was needed.
Again, in 1960, further additions were needed to meet the needs of the
Christian Education program.
In 1997, RSH Architects was commissioned to
design modifications to the building that would provide accessibility to
major areas of the church buildings. By making these changes, no one would
need to be excluded from the church’s mission and outreach, and so that
it could host Presbytery - wide functions. Accordingly, this renovation
included the addition of a new elevator serving the major floors of the
building, ramps and other accessible paths for members and guests, as well
as the installation of a new accessible restroom.
