RSH
Architects has completed several design and renovation projects for former
Westinghouse Broadcasting Corporation (Group W Network Services). The
first involved a new transmission facility for KDKA-FM Radio, which is
currently broadcasting as WLTJ-FM. Subsequently, RSH Architects was
commissioned for reconstruction of the transmission facilities for KDKA-AM
Radio, and a Satellite Earth Station for KDKA-TV2 and Group W Satellite
Communications in Allison Park, Pennsylvania.
The earth station project included
planning and architectural design for numerous additions to accommodate
increased capacity. This lead to commissions for such facilities in
Medford, New Jersey and Stanford, Connecticut, as well as renovations to
the Gateway Center headquarters of KDKA AM Radio and KDKA-TV2 in downtown
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and development of space analysis and
feasibility studies for future planning and expansion of both facilities.
Concurrent with these activities, RSH Architects designed architectural
facilities at the WESDIN Network Remote Microwave Relay Site for
Westinghouse Telecommunications, which houses a master control facility
and a series of site relay systems that formed a prototype for similar
facilities worldwide.
